Supporting those who become parents is a collective responsibility, and companies, in particular, play a fundamental role.<br \/>\nMy name is Federica Morra, and I work as an HR Manager at Aglatech14. For me, this role is not just professional\u2014it is also a personal responsibility. As a mother, I experience firsthand what it means to balance work and family. And it is precisely from this dual perspective that my desire\u2014and duty\u2014arises to help build environments where motherhood and work are not mutually exclusive, but can instead coexist in harmony.<\/p>\n<h3>Motherhood as a Social Issue<\/h3>\n<p>At Aglatech14, we are committed to supporting parenthood in general\u2014and motherhood in particular\u2014through a variety of initiatives. We want to share the meaning behind this choice and tell you about our daily efforts to create a more humane, inclusive, and sustainable work environment.<br \/>\nMotherhood is both a choice and a right. It is an experience that may be desired, postponed, pursued, lived with joy or with difficulty. There is no single way to be a mother or a parent, just as there is no single way to face the profound changes that parenthood brings. And yet, even today, this change still too often falls almost entirely on women, accompanied by expectations and pressures that make the parenting journey a constant balancing act between caregiving and work.<br \/>\nDespite progress, the idea persists that motherhood equals sacrifice, giving things up, and the \u201cheroic\u201d management of time and energy. Mothers are often caught between home and work, juggling an overwhelming schedule. But this should not be the norm. We need a cultural shift that recognizes the value of caregiving work, treating it as an integral part of personal life and growth. Motherhood is not an inconvenience to be managed\u2014it is a resource to be welcomed and supported.<\/p>\n<h3>A New Approach in the Workplace<\/h3>\n<p>The workplace is one of the primary contexts where a difference can\u2014and must\u2014be made. Companies have the tools to implement real change by offering flexibility, listening, and adaptation.<br \/>\nAt Aglatech14, we strive every day to build an organization that can accommodate the needs of new parents, through personalized measures (flexible hours, remote work, approval of reduced working hours), and through a culture that puts people at the centre. For us, welfare means looking at well-being in a comprehensive and forward-thinking way. It is both culture and responsibility.<\/p>\n<h3>The Code of Self-Regulation for Companies Supporting Motherhood<\/h3>\n<p>We have decided to formalize this commitment by signing the <em>\u201cCode of Self-Regulation for Companies Supporting Motherhood\u201d<\/em>. The Department for Equal Opportunities has welcomed our participation, listing Aglatech14 among the responsible companies that have chosen to actively support parenthood.<br \/>\nIt is a small but concrete step\u2014a recognition that strengthens our vision and motivates us to continue improving. Because every person\u2014parent or not\u2014who feels supported is a person who can give their best. And a society that invests in the well-being of parents is a society investing in its own future.
